ceramics

Clay taught me how to slow down and pay attention. You can’t skip steps or rush through the process—everything shows in the final piece. If you’re careless, it cracks. If you force it, it resists. It demands patience, presence, and steady hands.

There were times I’d spend hours shaping something, only to have it break right before. It was frustrating—watching something I put so much into fall apart in an instant. But over time, I realized those moments weren’t losses. They were lessons.

Working with clay helped me let go of perfection and control. I began to see failure not as a setback, but as part of the rhythm of making. Each attempt holds something new. Each broken piece taught me to begin again—with more care, more understanding.

I have taken a break from ceramics since I’ve moved due to lack of equipment and funds but am planning on returning to produce ceramic work again soon. ♡
